Other cities that have declared a ‘catastrophe’ location are Wentzville & St Peters.

In today’s article, we will cover what to do if your vehicle has been damaged in a hail storm, both from your insurance company’s perspective and from an auto body shop or paintless dent repair shop.

Steps to Take After A Catastrophic Hail Storm

Insurance Company & Auto Hail Damage Claims

  1. Mobile Catastrophe Claim Teams. State Farm and American Family have on-location adjuster stations set up around O’Fallon, one in the Home Depot parking lot and another in the CarShield overflow lot. You will need to schedule an appointment before you visit.
  2. File a hail claim as soon as possible. Contact our local agent, file a claim, and schedule a time to visit a Mobile Catastrophe location or your address. You will need the date of the occurrence, your policy number, and your vehicle make/model/year.
  3. Be prepared for a ‘total loss.’ Due to the size of the hail, wind conditions, and the amount of time the hail fell in O’Fallon, Wentzville, and St. Peters, many vehicles are being written as a total loss. Adjusters are issuing checks for ‘total-loss’ vehicles on-site. Learn more about a ‘total loss’ determination and your options.
  4. Repair checks issued on-site.  For the vehicles that can be repaired, insurance companies are issuing checks on-site to expedite the hail damage repair process. As convenient as this may sound, take a minute to read more about how this might affect you and the repair of your vehicle.
  5. Crash wrap is provided. This storm also broke windshields, sunroofs, and side mirrors. You can pick up some crash wrap at these on-site catastrophe centers.

The Hail Shop Hail Catastrophe Advise

  1. Mobile Catastrophe Claim Teams. Mobile Catastrophe Claim Teams are convenient for getting your vehicle estimate fast. With convenience does come a few draw backs. Number one, adjusters are not experienced hail damage inspectors. In a majority of Catastrophe parking lot estimates, damage is missed and NOT written into your initial estimate. This essentially means that the insurance company is agreeing to pay for the damage ‘seen.’ On average, 30-45% of hail damage is missed upon further inspection at a O’Fallen paintless dent repair or auto body shop.
  2. File a hail claim as soon as possible. Filing a hail claim ASAP is suggested. After a major catastrophic event that resulted in widespread & severe damage, there will be thousands of claims. Dent repair shops get backed up fast. Repair times become longer.
  3. Be prepared for a ‘total loss.’ Multiple factors contribute to a ‘total loss’ claim. The cost to repair windshield damage, multiple dents per panel, paint damage, dents on the body lines, and interior damage (broken sunroofs = water damage to the interior) can add up fast. If your vehicle is written as a ‘total loss,’ we suggest you do your research. Check CarFax to get an idea as to the fair-market-value. You do have the right to negotiate the settlement check amount.
  4. Repair checks issued on-site.  As mentioned in point 1, be prepared to get a check that doesn’t cover the cost to repair 100% of the hail damage. Ask the adjuster what your options are. Can I get a second opinion from an O’Fallon paintless dent repair shop? What happens if the repair shop finds more damage? What is the wait time for supplement approvals? If I take this check today, does that mean any additional damage won’t be paid for? Who is my contact, i.e., adjuster?
  5. Crash wrap is provided. This is a very good option and is highly recommended. What is not recommended is assuming that you have to use an O’Fallon auto body or PDR shop that is on your insurance “Preferred Partner” shop list, or DRP. Learn more.

Auto Hail Damage Claims – Aurora, IL https://www.thehailshopusa.com/auto-hail-damage-claims-aurora-il/ Mon, 10 Apr 2023 17:07:53 +0000 https://www.thehailshopusa.com/?p=7868 Aurora, IL FAQ Answered About The Hail Claims Process

If you suspect your vehicle has hail damage as a result of the early April 2023 hail storms, this article will answer some of the most frequently asked questions we have received from Aurora, IL vehicle owners.

How do I get the hail damage repaired on my vehicle?

There are generally 2 methods to repair dent damage to vehicles.
  • Paintless Dent Repair (PDR). PDR is the preferred method for repairing auto hail damage. Specialized tools designed specifically for PDR technicians to remove dents from either the underside or top surface of the damaged area. Special rods are used on the underside of the vehicle panels to push out and smooth dents. Dent pullers are used to gently pull the dents out from the top surface. Both methods ensure the painted surface is not disturbed. In most cases, repairs may take only a few days. PDR may not be effective on large dents or extensive damage by hail.
  • Conventional vehicle repair. Conventional body repair is the preferred method for repairing dent damage that has damaged the vehicle’s paint or damage that is too large to be reversed with PDR. Working mostly on the exterior of the vehicle, dents are pulled out and irregularities filled in with a body filler While the method is most effective on deep dents, repair time is generally longer because the repaired area must be primed and repainted.

90% of hail damage can be repaired using the paintless dent repair method. If we discover paint damage, such as cracking, scratches, chips or loose paint, The Hail Shop USA can still repair the vehicle. We offer 100% auto hail repair services, including paint damage repair.

Does my car insurance policy cover hail damage?

It depends on the type of coverage you have. You’re covered for auto hail damage if you have comprehensive insurance coverage.

Minor hail damage often isn’t worth claiming because the repair costs don’t exceed the deductible. Keep in mind that hail damage can be hard to perceive with the naked eye. The Hail Shop uses special LED lighting specifically designed to identify hail damage you might not see.

Can hail damage total your car?

Yes, a very severe hail storm CAN total out a vehicle.  Depending on the size of the hailstones and wind speeds during the storm plus the grade of your vehicle’s panels, a hail storm can deem a vehicle beyond repair. Some materials, such as steel, used in car manufacturing are more durable and safe than others.

The hail damage must be severe enough before insurance companies will declare a vehicle as totaled. If you are concerned that your vehicle was totaled by the recent Aurora storms, call the professionals at The Hail Shop USA first for a thorough and comprehensive assessment first.

When an insurance adjuster estimates the hail damage, they will sometimes decide a vehicle is totaled because they don’t understand the magnitude of what PDR can repair.

Do I have to repair hail damage on my car in Aurora, IL?

If your vehicle is completely paid off and you own it outright, the choice to repair is yours. If you still carry a lien on your vehicle, you must repair the hail damage.  Any settlement will be made out to you and your lienholder.

Will I need to deal with an insurance adjuster on hail damage?

The choice is yours! You can take care of the hail claim and deal with the insurance company or you can skip the stressful parts and leave it to us. From inspecting your vehicle and writing up an estimate for your insurance company to filing your hail claim for you, we can take care of everything.

This is how it works:

  • We inspect your vehicle at the location of your choice.
  • We write the estimate and submit it to your insurance company.
  • If the assigned insurance adjuster wants to double-check our estimate, they will come to the shop to go over the claim.
  • If additional damage is discovered after we have disassembled your vehicle for repairs, we contact your adjuster to request a supplement to cover the damage.
  • Once your vehicle has been repaired, we reach out to the insurance company to close the claim.

Will a hail damage claim in Aurora, IL raise my insurance rate?

If you file a claim for auto hail damage in Illinois, the claim information will go into a database that stores previously filed insurance claims. If you have an extensive claims history, that could result in higher premiums.

Frequent hail can also affect the insurance rates for everyone in a particular area. If your area is prone to severe weather, insurance companies might set rates higher due to the likelihood of claims.

The National Weather Service does report instances of hail at its primary sites in Illinois over time. These sites include Chicago, Springfield, Rockford, Peoria, Moline, and St Louis. State Farm paid out over $3.1 billion in hail claims in 2020, according to an April 2020 analysis by the insurer.

Ultimately, Aurora, IL auto hail damage claim, or any city in Illinois, can affect your car insurance rates, whether you file a claim or not.

Millions of Dollars in Auto Hail Claims – Omaha https://www.thehailshopusa.com/omaha-auto-hail-damage-claims/ Fri, 15 Jul 2022 17:33:24 +0000 https://www.thehailshopusa.com/?p=7733 In the Aftermath of a Seriously Severe Hail Storm in Omaha, NE

When high wind speeds and hail meet during a severe summer storm, the result is millions of dollars in repairs. Omaha auto hail repair shops will be busy for many months and possibly even into next year. Residents are worried that these severe storms could be the new norm.

Kearney County Emergency Management Director Craig Lupkes said, “We’ve been hit pretty hard the last couple of years. We can never just catch rain. All it is is severe weather. When it comes through, it destroys everything.”

Omaha meteorologists and scientists are echoing these concerns.

Scientists say that damaging hailstorms are on the increase in Nebraska and are expected to worsen with climate change. Meteorologists describe these storms as a “ring of fire” because they follow along the periphery of the hot air mass. Climatologists have notated that 2022 has been the second worst June for hail in the last 10 years.

Good news. Hail storm season in the midwest typically only lasts about 3 months of the year. Bad news, the consensus by experts in the scientific community doesn’t see this trend in severe weather getting better.

Nebraska can get hail any month of the year, but most hailstorms occur from May through July, with June the peak month. June 14, 2022, has been the worst.

Omaha insurance groups report a major increase in wind/hail damage claims.

Hail Damage Repair Omaha, NE$32 million dollars in 2022 hail damage claims alone.

American Family Insurance, a major insurer in Nebraska, has received 6,200 claims for wind and hail damage this year and over 4,000  more in June.

In an attempt to expedite the Omaha auto hail claims process, some insurance companies have set up drive-through inspection tents in multiple big box store parking lots across multiple counties.

Omaha vehicle owners are expressing major concerns about the likelihood of rate increases as a result of the hail claims.

American Family Insurance spokesman Ken Muth says, “While storm damage does affect insurance rates, no single year does,  Instead, the company bases rates on a 20- to 30-year average. The recent sharp increases in insurance rates are due to the rising cost of building materials, car parts, replacement cars, and labor.”

Andover, Wichita Storm Brings Tornado, Wind, Hail – Damages Cars & Homes https://www.thehailshopusa.com/andover-wichita-storm-brings-tornado-wind-hail-damages-cars-homes/ Sun, 15 May 2022 12:23:18 +0000 https://www.thehailshopusa.com/?p=7712 2022 has been a topsy-turvy year for severe weather occurrences. In true form, Kansas weather trends are all over the board,  something Wichita residents are accustomed to, but catastrophic weather is something never completely expected. Especially when the word ‘tornado’ hits the scene. Tornados never arrive alone.

When you think  ‘tornado’ in the midwest, you know there will be a high likelihood of torrential rain, hail, and wind gusts that like to shoot hail stones across the sky like killer bees.

This is exactly what happened in Andover, KS. Nearly 1,000 structures were hit by a destructive EF3 twister. Downed power lines and large debris blocked most major intersections, more than 13,000 people were without power in Andover and Wichita, and hundreds of homes and vehicles were battered with large hail.

“Kansas Governor Laura Kelly has even issued a State of Emergency Disaster Declaration for the state just before 9 p.m., activating the disaster response and recovery portions of the Kansas Response Plan,” KSN.com writes.

Record high temperatures in the midwest continue to put residents in danger of more severe weather occurrences.

If your vehicle has sustained hail damage, call the auto hail repair specialists in Wichita, KS. The Hail Shop has extensive experience with catastrophic storm recovery services and will be offering a free valet  and pick-up/delivery services for vehicle owners in Andover, KS.

Weather Pattern Predictions for 2022 https://www.thehailshopusa.com/weather-pattern-predictions-for-2022/ Thu, 17 Feb 2022 22:14:32 +0000 https://www.thehailshopusa.com/?p=7694 Mood SwingsMother Natures Mood Swings

We all have bad days. Sometimes we can even have a bad week. 2021-2022 is proving to be an overall bad year for Mother Natures. From wild weather mood swings to unpredictable barometric behavior, someone needs to muster up the courage to suggest that MN take a “Netflix & Chill” approach for the rest of the year.

The 2022 Farmers Almanac Playbook

Temperature swings and lots of snow.

We can all agree that December, January, and February could be considered “unseasonable.” This is especially true for the Texans that traded in their light jackets for snow shovels on February 3rd. South Carolina and Virginia saw rare blasts of snow and ice in late January. A Myrtle Beach fire chief warned residents that “even walking out the front door could be treacherous.” Meanwhile in the midwest, where snowy and icy conditions are quite commonplace, Missourians and Kansans are experiencing blizzard like conditions just 3 days after Valentines Day.

The Farmers Almanac managing Editor Sandi Duncan says this about March.

“And, she says don’t get fooled if March starts off relatively calm…Unfortunately, March looks very stormy. We’re actually calling for some stormy conditions in the middle of the month and the unusual thing is if you look even further ahead in April, we’re calling for possible late-season blizzard across the region. SO, winter is going to hang on.”

Oh, yay.

The official descriptive words used by The Farmers Almanac of 2022 are flip-floppy and mixed bag. We call this Mother Nature manic depression.

La Nina & Her Influence on Spring 2022 Tornado & Hail Season

La Nina 2022 Hail TrendsLa Nina has an important influence on the Spring 2022 hail season in the United States. And usually not in a good way.

In a La Nina spring season, there is a substantially higher frequency of hailstorms  in the southern and southeastern parts of the United States.

It nicely shows the main outlines of the central and eastern parts of the Tornado Alley including Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Are You Ready For Hail Season?

In the afore mentioned states (Arkansas, Oklahoma, & Texas) – hail season is nothing new…certainly not appreciated, but not new. If 2021 is any indication of how 2022 comes rolling in, it is a good idea to get ready.

Auto hail damage is a real thing in Hail Alley. If you are in the unfortunate situation of not being afforded the amount of time needed to prepare for a hail storm, The Hail Shop USA has got you covered.

We have repaired thousands of hail damaged vehicles back to their original pristine condition and can do the same for you!

Insurance company totaled my hail damaged car, now what? https://www.thehailshopusa.com/insurance-company-totaled-my-hail-damaged-car-now-what/ Tue, 18 Jan 2022 19:35:38 +0000 https://www.thehailshopusa.com/?p=7692 When your insurance concludes that your vehicle is considered “totaled” due to hail damage, you will probably have a few questions. The Hail Shop USA is an paintless dent repair company that specializes in the repair of hail damaged vehicles (auto hail repair) and questions about a “totaled” hail damaged car is very high on the inquiry scale.

In this article, we will go over some of the most FAQ about a totaled out vehicle as a result of a hail storm.

  1. My vehicle still runs, why is it considered totaled? This is a big one and we understand why. If the vehicle is still mechanically sound and drives just as it did before the hail damage, how did this happen?

A car will be declared totaled from hail damage if the cost to repair the dents, dings, and any broken glass, plus its salvage value, is higher than the actual cash value of the vehicle.

For example, if your vehicle has a Kelly Blue Book value of $4,500 and the paintless dent repair company has estimated that there is $4,250 worth of auto hail repair and you add that to the salvage value (let’s say $500 to make the math easy) – that totals $4,750. This vehicle would be considered totaled.

  2. Can I still keep the vehicle if my insurance adjuster said it’s totaled?

If you decide to keep the vehicle, the insurance company will write you a check for the ACV (Actual Cash Value). Next, your auto insurance company will issue a salvage title on the vehicle, and you will be responsible for making repairs or not to make any repairs to the car if you do decide to keep it.

If you keep the vehicle, as long as there is no loan on the vehicle, and decide NOT to repair the hail damage and the car is involved in an accident or sustains additional hail damage – you will get no additional money to repair the existing damage.  No insurance company will insure you against hail damage if the car is already damaged.

  3.  Is a vehicle with a Salvage Title insurable? If your car is declared a total loss due to hail but you wish to keep driving it, you may be able to get your insurance provider to pay you the difference between the vehicle’s value before the damage occurred and its salvage value, minus your deductible. Beware though: You may need an inspection before the car is allowed back on the road, and your title will be forever branded, making it potentially difficult to insure.  USA Today excerpt credit.

Liability Insurance is probably going to be your best option with a Salvaged Title on a hail damaged vehicle.

If you have questions about keeping or repairing a hail damaged vehicle, call the experts at The Hail Shop USA. We have restored hundreds of hail damaged vehicles that have been deemed “totaled” by insurance companies.

You can schedule an estimate or free consultation. In many cases, you can send us pictures or video of the damage by email.

Why are we seeing hail in the winter months? https://www.thehailshopusa.com/why-are-we-seeing-hail-in-the-winter-months/ Sat, 25 Dec 2021 17:06:21 +0000 https://www.thehailshopusa.com/?p=7684 Typically, we experience sleet in the wintertime months and hail during the warm months of summer – so why is it hailing in December?

While sleet and hail are both forms of frozen precipitation, they form in completely different ways but before we get further into these curious frozen weather phenomenons, let’s discuss all of the forms of precipitation.

There are five primary types that eventually reach the ground: snow, sleet, freezing rain, hail, and rain.

RainRain

When the air is warm enough all the way down to the earths surface, it’s just plain old rain. Further explained, when heat from the Sun turns moisture (water) formed from plants and leaves, as well as oceans, lakes, and rivers, into water vapour (gas), which disappears into the air. The water vapor then rises and turns into clouds.

When the water vapor cools and condenses, it then turns BACK into water. When the water droplets get too large and heavy to suspend, they fall as rain.

Snow

Snow forms when tiny ice crystals in clouds stick together to become snowflakes. If enough crystals stick together, they’ll become heavy enough to fall to the ground.

Snowflakes that descend through moist air that is slightly warmer than 0 °C will melt around the edges and stick together to produce big flakes.

Snowflakes that fall through cold, dry air produce powdery snow that does not stick together.

Snow is formed when temperatures are low and there is moisture in the atmosphere in the form of tiny ice crystals.

Freezing Rain

Freezing rain develops when warm oceanic air rises up and over the cold air, producing liquid precipitation that falls through the cold layer. The falling droplets become supercooled and freeze on impact with the cold surface causing freezing rain. Freezing rain is the precipitation type with the highest rate of accidents and death during the weather event.

Freezing rain occurs only when the earths surface is below freezing temperatures.

Sleet

Sleet is oftentimes confused with freezing rain but the two, in fact, are very different. Sleet is simply frozen raindrops and occurs when the layer of freezing air along the surface is thicker. This causes the raindrops to freeze before reaching the ground. Sleet isn’t as dangerous as Freezing Rain because instead of freezing when it hits the earths surface, sleet bounces off of objects on impact.

Sleet occurs when snowflakes only partially melt when they fall through a shallow layer of warm air. These slushy drops refreeze as they next fall through a deep layer of freezing air above the surface.

Hail

Hail is essentially oversized sleet. Hail is frozen precipitation that can grow to very large sizes through the collection of water that freezes onto the hailstone’s surface.

Hail typically forms in spring, summer or fall thunderstorms. First, soft, snow-like particles form in subfreezing air at the top of a thunderstorm. (Yes, even in the middle of summer, the tops of thunderstorms are below freezing).

The hailstones grow bigger in the clouds as ice crystals and cloud droplets freeze onto them. They’re held suspended in the clouds by strong winds that push up into the storm.

Finally, once the hailstones grow too heavy, gravity causes them to fall to the Earth.

Hailstones come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They can be lumpy, bumpy, and may even take the shape of small spikes. Hailstones must be at least 0.2 inches in size.

Hail typically forms during the warmer months of summer.

Why are we seeing hail in the winter months?

As you have read above, you now know that the months in which hail forms doesn’t depend on seasons but the temperature of the season.

Hail requires cold in the upper atmosphere, where it forms. A raindrop forms and begins to fall, but an updraft takes it into the freezing zone, where it freezes. It begins to fall again, but another updraft takes it back up, where it acquires another layer of ice. After several such cycles, the frozen particles fall as hailstones. It may be cold or not so cold on the ground.

Typically, the winter months display cooler temperatures and the summer months  are warmer. This isn’t always the case, much like we experienced in Kentucky this December of 2021.

The average temperature in Kentucky during the month of December is high 45.4°F and low 29.9°F. December 11, 2021 clocked in at a high of 66°F and low of 54°F.

On December 10, 2021, a violent, long-tracked tornado moved across Western Kentucky, producing severe to catastrophic damage in numerous towns. In Paducah, KY on December 11, 2021 – 2.75″ hail fell from the sky resulting in hail damage to vehicles and homes.

“The hail recorded earlier in the evening Sunday from the supercells ahead of the cold front was very impressive. Especially for the time of year. A few locations even observed hail damage to vehicles and homes. Ping pong ball sized hail was even observed by a NWS employee in the Paducah area.” – WPSD Local.

2021 has proven to be the year of record breaking and unseasonably warmer winter months….and unseasonable weather.

Hail! Flying High Under the Radar No More https://www.thehailshopusa.com/hail-flying-high-under-the-radar-no-more/ Thu, 23 Sep 2021 17:07:15 +0000 https://www.thehailshopusa.com/?p=7677 As Hail Occurrences Increase, So Do Your Insurance Rates

In an article by The Weekly Planet, Alex Kubicek says that “Hail is expanding its footprint across the country at the same time that it is becoming more frequent in the central United States.”

Who is Alex Kubicek? His Twitter feed says – Weather guy, CEO of @UnderstoryWx, Board gamer.

Golf Ball Sized HailIn August of 2021, Wealth & Finance, an international monthly publication dedicated to delivering high quality informative and up-to-the-minute global business content recognized Understory Inc with  top honor of Best Climate Change Insurance Solution 2021 for their work rewriting insurance for the era of climate change.

In layman terms. Alex Kubicek is a super, hard-core weather geek.

When scientists and climatologists list climate change’s biggest (or extreme) threats –  fire, floods, heat waves, & drought are at the top. With occurrences of hail increasing in spread and severity, hail is on its way to making that list.

Changes in Climate Extremes and their Impacts on the Natural Physical Environment white paper defines An Extreme Weather Event as, “the occurrence of a value of a weather or climate variable above (or below) a threshold value near the upper (or lower) ends (‘tails’) of the range of observed values of the variable.” Source.

How much money does hail damage cause per year in the United States?

The catastrophic effects of extreme hail occurrences include:

Crop Damage – Hail annually causes billions of dollars in damage worldwide to crops and property combined.

Personal Property Damage – In 2019, over 7.1 million US properties were affected by hail damage. Between 2008 and 2014, US insurers paid roughly $5.37 billion for auto insurance claims, according to hail data. The highest claim frequency was recorded in 2011 with 4.3 claims per 1,000 insured automobiles in the US due to hail damage. Source.

How do these hail occurrences effect personal property?

Mini Car in Hail StormFrom damaged roofs, and personal property damage to hail damaged vehicles  – insurance companies are paying out millions per year to repair the effects of hail damage. We know this.

The problem though is how many of these hail damage claims are actually legitimate?

It works kind of like this. A hail storm hits a portion of Austin, Texas. Not the entire city but more like a span of approximately 25 city blocks. Within those 25 blocks are residential neighborhoods, a couple of car lots, and a shopping center.

How do these hail occurrences effect property and casualty insurance companies?

After a hail storm, it is common for local or out-of-town roofing contractors to visit these neighborhoods and distribute sales paraphernalia in hopes of earning the contract to repair the hail damaged roofs. The same goes for paintless dent repair companies.

The problem is that not every roof or vehicle has the same severity of damage. Insurance fraud is a significant problem after major storms, partly because crooked contractors deceive customers about the extent of roof damage.

“If there is a high rate of weather related home damage or claims being filed in your neighborhood, your insurer will raise the rates for the entire area. This rate increase will affect your premiums regardless of whether or not you recently filed a claim.” Source.

How do these hail occurrences effect people?

“We really don’t know a lot about how the weather affects people. There has to be a better way to understand the weather than what we’re doing,” says Kubicek.

Kubieck’s company Uderstory is seeking to find a better way to detect the actual effect each unique hail occurrence can have on a farmers crops, a personals personal property, their vehicles, etc.  This, in turn, will better help property and casualty insurance adjusters understand just how much damage was sustained based on scientific data.

What does this mean?

Understory has developed what is called an “unmatched hyperlocal network” of ground-level sensors spaced two miles apart throughout a city or other area. Each sensor measures wind, rain and hail by force, direction and angle of impact, 120,000 times a second. That data allows analysts to precisely estimate storm damage, he said. Source.

Roofing ContractorWith this technology, insurance estimators can go into a hail storm damaged area with an understanding of how much damage they should expect to see. If a roofing company or a paintless dent repair company has already estimated the cost to repair the damaged sustained on a roof or vehicle before the insurance estimator has actually seen the damage, they can quickly determine if their estimate is within the range of the data they have received from the sensors.

If a contractors estimate is grossly inflated, the insurance adjuster can visit the property to re-evaluate the damage and deliver a reimbursement amount that more accurately reflects the damage.

Ultimately, this technology will prevent the insured from incurring a cost increase on their property and casualty insurance and vehicle insurance policies.

Hail Sensors in Hail Alley

Hail Sensors - KubicekCurrently, there are over 600 sensors placed strategically across hail alley. Understory has installed sensors in Dallas-Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, Kansas City, and St. Louis – all producing what Kubicek calls “litigation-quality data” with a 97% accuracy rate that can hold up in court.

The insurer hopes that the data obtained from the sensor will help to more effectively handle future claims.

How do you properly wash a car? https://www.thehailshopusa.com/how-do-you-properly-wash-a-car/ Thu, 12 Aug 2021 19:20:50 +0000 https://www.thehailshopusa.com/?p=7672 How to hand wash car wash like a pro

You’ve just had the hail damage repaired on your vehicle and you are ready to get it back to looking new again. Follow these simple steps to properly wash your car like the pro’s at The Hail Shop USA.

Gather the materials you will need to wash your car.

    • A pressure washer, car wash nozzle or a garden hose spray nozzle.
    • 2 Heavy duty buckets. You can pick-up a 5 gallon bucket at your local hardware store for under five bucks. You’ll use one for soapy water and one as a dirty rinse bucket. It is also great for storing your car washing gear.
    • A sponge.
    • Microfiber wash brush, microfiber applicator, and microfiber cloths. Microfiber will both remove dirt and wick away water simultaneously. Plus, it reduces friction between the towel and your car for a safer way to dry without scratching.
    • Streak-free window glass cleaner.
    • Car washing foam. Car washing foam eliminates dirt, grime and environmental contaminants with massive amounts of dirt fighting, sudsy foam. We like this one sold on Amazon
    • Butter wet wax.

Wash your car like a champion

  1. Spray down the vehicle. Use a pressure washer, car wash nozzle or a garden hose with a spray nozzle (wide spray setting) to rinse most of the dirt, grime, and grit off the entire exterior panels.
  2. Start at the top. Use your microfiber wash brush and extremely sudsy water with your car washing foam to clean the vehicle. Use a side-to-side motion, never circular motions.
